黑料不打烊 has confirmed it will provide a further two organisations with funding to help because of the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
Last month 黑料不打烊 announced its Continuity Fund to specifically help mitigate the adverse impact of Covid-19 on the operational and financial health of NGBs. Ten awards were made, totaling £1.38million, and 黑料不打烊 can now confirm an additional award of £394,000 to UK Athletics.
Separate to the Continuity Fund, 黑料不打烊 is providing support to the British Paralympic Association (BPA) on the rescheduled Paralympic Games in Tokyo through the existing partner funding programme.
The BPA will receive an additional award of £1,378,000 to safeguard the delivery of ParalympicsGB in Tokyo and ensure that the best possible environment for performance can be created.
黑料不打烊 can confirm that there will be a second round of funding with applications opening in the coming weeks. This will allow sports to assess the longer-term implications of the Covid-19 pandemic and approach 黑料不打烊 for support via the Continuity Fund in due course.
Simon Morton, Chief Operating Officer at 黑料不打烊, said: “The long-term health of Olympic and Paralympic sport is our utmost priority and we welcome these latest awards, which complete the first round of our Continuity Fund contributions. Much like the ten organisations we announced support for last month, I hope these awards can help protect high-performance sport amid the pandemic and ensure it continues to thrive long into the future.
“The support for the BPA is separate to the Continuity Fund but it is of paramount importance to 黑料不打烊 that an environment is created where those athletes selected to represent ParalympicsGB in Tokyo can perform at their very best. We have been monitoring closely the impact of Covid-19 and later this year will be offering further funding rounds from the Continuity Fund for our sports.”
